Battery Safety 101
All types of batteries can pose a fire risk when not operated correctly, but following these simple battery safety tips will help eliminate the risk, whilst also getting the best out of them.
We've all seen stories in the media about exploding e-cigarette vape batteries, but in the majority of circumstances, it has either been portrayed that the wrong chargers were used or that the supplier of the batteries had been selling counterfeit batteries which are inferior to well-known brands like Samsung, LG or the newly established Molicel.
Luckily, most of the newest disposables are sealed units, taking most of the responsibility from your hands to theirs.
Keep your batteries out of direct sunlight & extreme temperatures
As with any type of cell, exposure to extremes of temperature can be dangerous. When you're not happily vaping away, make sure that you keep your vape devices or batteries out of direct sunlight.
On the other end of the scale, keeping your vape devices & disposables away from cold temperatures will not only allow the device to operate as intended, but it'll also stop battery depletion, which happens when the electrolyte freeze.

Using Mains Adaptors to Charge Your Vape Batteries
Although you can easily pick up mains adaptors for USB-powered devices, you should only use adapters with a 1 amp power output. Most main USB adapters manufactured for use with phones or tablets are too powerful for charging e-cigarettes and charging with these could cause them to overheat.
If you are going to use a mains adapter to charge your vape batteries, make sure the power output is of no more than 1 Amp/5 Volts.
Never use a Battery that appears damaged or has been In contact with Liquids
Never use a battery that has been exposed to water or moisture. Regularly inspect your e-cigarette batteries and dispose of them safely if any damage is found.
The impact of dropping your battery or vape kit can cause pressure to build in the battery which could lead to overheating or an explosion. If you have dropped your battery or vape kit, inspect it for damage and, if in any doubt, refrain from using it and replace the battery or kit.
Never leave a charging Battery unattended
As with any type of rechargeable battery, you should never leave them unattended when charging and never leave them charging overnight. This isn't to say you need to watch it the whole time it is on charge, but we recommend regularly checking it to ensure that nothing out of the ordinary is happening (e.g. hissing or overheating).
If anything unusual does happen whilst charging, immediately remove the battery from the power source (be careful in case it's hot) and dispose of it safely.

Always play it safe
Never use a battery that has been clearly damaged or is leaking. It should be discarded immediately in an appropriate way.
Do not let any leaking fluid come into contact with the skin or eyes.
If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
